The Best Free Online Marketplace in Colombia for Buying, Selling & Renting
A free, bilingual online marketplace for Colombia. Post housing, electronics, vehicles, or furniture — no commissions, no fees, with built-in messaging and auto-translation.
If you've tried buying or selling anything in Colombia, you already know the struggle. Facebook Marketplace is a mess of scams and ghost sellers. MercadoLibre charges commissions on everything. OLX left the country. And Finca Raíz is fine for apartments but useless for everything else.
Colombia needed a proper online marketplace — one that's free, bilingual, covers everything from apartments to laptops to cars, and doesn't take a cut of your sale. So we built one.
What Can You Buy and Sell?
The marketplace covers four main categories, each with specific subcategories so you can find exactly what you're looking for:
- Housing — apartments for rent, houses for sale, rooms, offices, fincas, short-term rentals
- Electronics — phones, laptops, gaming consoles, cameras, audio equipment, appliances
- Vehicles — cars, motorcycles, trucks, bicycles, parts
- Furniture — beds, sofas, desks, kitchen equipment, storage, decor
Whether you're an expat furnishing your first apartment in Medellín, a Colombian family selling a car, or a digital nomad looking for a cheap laptop — there's a category for it.
How It Works

Posting is free and takes about 3 minutes. Here's the flow:
- Pick your type — Selling, Renting, or Looking For
- Add details — Title, description, category, city, neighborhood. Upload up to 10 photos.
- Set your price — In COP, USD, or even crypto (Bitcoin, USDC, USDT, PayPal USD)
- Choose how to be contacted — WhatsApp, email, phone, Telegram, or use our built-in messaging system so you don't have to share your number
- Publish — Your listing goes live immediately. We auto-translate it to the other language (Spanish↔English) so both locals and foreigners can find it.
No account required to post — your account is created automatically with your email. No commissions, no hidden fees, no premium listings.
Why Another Marketplace?
Fair question. Here's what's different:
It's Bilingual
Every listing is automatically translated to both Spanish and English. Post in Spanish and English speakers on colombiamove.com see it in English. Post in English and Colombians on colombiamove.com see it in Spanish. This doubles your audience instantly — especially useful for high-value items that foreigners buy (laptops, cameras, furniture for furnished rentals).
Built-in Messaging (No Phone Number Required)
The biggest complaint about selling online in Colombia: spam on WhatsApp. Random messages at midnight, scam attempts, people who waste your time. Our platform has a built-in messaging system. Buyers can contact you directly through the listing without getting your phone number. You get notified by email (or WhatsApp, if you want), and you respond through the platform. If someone's annoying, block them with one click. Messages auto-delete after 30 days.
You can still list your WhatsApp or phone number if you prefer direct contact — it's optional either way.
No Commissions
MercadoLibre charges sellers between 9-17% depending on the category. That's $90-170 on a million-peso item. Our marketplace is completely free — posting, selling, buying, everything. We're funded by the Colombia Move ecosystem, not by taking a cut of your transactions.
Search Alerts
Looking for a specific MacBook model? A 2-bedroom apartment in Laureles under 2 million COP? Set up a search alert and we'll email you when a matching listing is posted. No need to check back every day.
Where It's Most Active
Most listings right now are concentrated in Medellín, Bogotá, and Cartagena — the cities with the largest expat and digital nomad populations. But we have categories for every major Colombian city, and the platform works for any location.
The electronics and housing categories are the most active. Vehicles are growing. Furniture tends to spike when expats move in or out of the country (spoiler: that's constantly).
For Expats Specifically
If you just arrived in Colombia and need to furnish an apartment, this is the fastest way to find used furniture, appliances, and electronics from other expats who are leaving. People sell entire apartment setups — bed, desk, washing machine, kitchen supplies — at steep discounts because they can't take it with them.
The reverse is also true: when it's time to leave, you can list everything you own and reach both the local and expat market simultaneously thanks to the bilingual feature.
For Colombians

Preguntas Frecuentes
❓ Is the marketplace really free?
Yes. No listing fees, no commissions, no premium tiers. Posting and selling is completely free.
❓ Do I need to create an account?
Not upfront. When you post your first listing, an account is created automatically with your email. You can also sign in anytime to save favorites, set up search alerts, or use the messaging system.
❓ Can I post in English?
Yes. Post in whichever language you're comfortable with — the platform automatically translates your listing to the other language so both Spanish and English speakers can find it.
❓ How do I avoid scams?
Use the built-in messaging system instead of giving out your phone number. Meet in public places for transactions. Never send deposits before seeing the item. If a price seems too good to be true, it probably is. Report suspicious listings with the flag button.
❓ What areas does the marketplace cover?
All of Colombia. The most active cities are Medellín, Bogotá, Cartagena, Cali, and Barranquilla, but you can post from any city or town. There's also a neighborhood search feature for the 9 largest cities.
